1st Paed-Cardio appointment @GH
Day 19th of Dhiya's Life:
Ayah & umi went as early as 7:30am -after sending Abg Im to school - for Dhiya's 9am appointment. Reach GH early & alhamdulillah the nurse at the counter said: 1st come 1st serve, upon putting down the appointment card. There were many other babies, toddlers & big kids too - all with the same issue, Umi guessed.
Umi forgot to read carefully the appointment card - so ayah had to go up to Pengarah's office to print a copy of GL for Dhiya.
First, two nurses checked Dhiya's heart rate & weighted Dhiya too - 2.8kg with clothing on - alhamdulillah syukur..
The same young doc, A.Firdauz, who did the 1st echo test last time was around too, along with a senior doc & the technician - only 1 parent/guardian is allowed in. Umi had to put down Dhiya on the patient's bed, opened up Dhiya's clothes from the abdomen area - Dhiya was such a good girl - initially didn't cry at all.
Umi saw the test being done - basically Dhiya's beating heart in colours wow-WOW.. black & white with red to show blood flow with O2 & blue for blood flow with CO2 - or is it vice versa? The young doc remembered about Dhiya.. he & the techie had a good laugh upon hearing Dhiya's crying or was it laughter (?)- the senior doc had a look at Dhiya's screen result too & explained a bit. Umi was kind of lost when he asked: Any questions? All umi had remembered to ask was: How to monitor Dhiya's heart at home? Basically Dhiya is not supposed to be left crying for long...until lips turning blue or worst - hands turn blue too. It means lack of O2 & should go to Emergency Room pronto! For now, docs are not worried much about the 'not yet closing hole' but more concerned about weak pulmonary valves. So, another appointment in a month's time to monitor Dhiya's situation. Umi prays and prays hard to Allah - hopefully the diagnose is not that serious & Dhiya's heart will get better insyaAllah...
This is ayah-umi-Dhiya's 1st photo together. May we have lots and a lot more photo opportunity to come insyaAllah.
Next, to the Klinik Paeditrik to set appointment date for kidney, urinary track & bladder (KUB) ultrasound. It was frustrating to wait since the nurse there said the Paed Clinic didn't do review for KUB test. Umi argued that umi was already discharged from maternity ward D & there is a memo to Paed Clinic! The nurse insisted for umi to go back to maternity ward upon KUB test for review. Hmmm... finally she, Rahimah (?), got a young doc to put down an 'additional memo' on the memo to KK - to review KUB result after ultrasound to be done on 19th July - the doc wanted to throw away the original memo to Paed Clinic but umi asked to keep it- she said it was nothing (?). All umi had to do was to ensure 1-month milestone check-up for both Dhiya's & umi will be considering the review of KUB result.
