How to Handle Expressed Breast Milk (EBM)

Frozen Milk (Do not refreeze!)
Freezer compartment inside 1 door refrigerator – 2 weeks
Freezer compartment inside 2 door refrigerator – 6 months
Deep freezer – 12 months (ideal 6 months)

The cream will rise to the top of the milk during storage. Gently swirl milk (do not shake) to mix before checking temperature and offering to baby.
NEVER microwave human milk or heat it directly on the stove.

Jika didapati susu menjadi 2 lapisan (hindmilk dan foremilk terpisah) goyang perlahan-lahan (gentle swirl) untuk memastikan kedua2 komponen susu ibu tersebut bercampur dan suhu dapat diseratakan.

Day 19th of Dhiya's Life: Ayah & umi went as early as 7:30am -after sending Abg Im to school - for Dhiya's 9am appointment. Reach GH early & alhamdulillah the nurse at the counter said: 1st come 1st serve, upon putting down the appointment card. There were many other babies, toddlers & big kids too - all with the same issue, Umi guessed. Umi forgot to read carefully the appointment card - so ayah had to go up to Pengarah's office to print a copy of GL for Dhiya. First, two nurses checked Dhiya's heart rate & weighted Dhiya too - 2.8kg with clothing on - alhamdulillah syukur.. The same young doc, A.Firdauz, who did the 1st echo test last time was around too, along with a senior doc & the technician - only 1 parent/guardian is allowed in. Allah said, "Kun fayakun.." ALLAHUAKBAR!! Even if the GH's gynae specialist said (a short long story here) very small probability for umi to get pregnant due to a condition called unicornuate uterus.  Umi went to IPPT Bertam to consult the one gynae available for a possibility of doing laproscopy to check further on the unicornuate uterus. Actually ayah wanted to accompany umi there but umi insisted that it was going to be nothing really since it was 1st appointment - most probably history-taking & scheduled for next appointment.  History was made that day... umi was literally on cloud nine - it was hard to belief at first!
